Typhoid is one of the most common diseases spread by contamination of food and water. 


It is a type of fever caused by the Salmonella typhi, which attacks parts of our digestive system.

Typhoid cause chill weakness, fatigue, sore throat, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, slow heart rate, headache, rashes, due to lower immunity level children are often more susceptible to typhoid.


Nutrition problems 


  • Typhoid fever affects our gastrointestinal system resulting in quite nutritional severe issues.

  • Due to  Typhoid fever 500 gm of protein in muscle tissue daily loss

  • The fast depletion of glycogen reserves

  • Disturbed fluid balance

  • Poor absorption of nutrients from ingested food

  • intestinal bleeding due to ulceration

  • Injury of intestinal tract due to medications

For recovery of the patient in the condition of typhoid fever, it is very vital to have a sufficient good and balanced diet plan,


 which recovers the patient quickly, and only homemade food is preferred.

If not treated seriously with suitable antibiotics and diet, typhoid fever may cause significant complications.


 Avoid complications; nutrition plays a vital role in typhoid recovery.


so here a list of recommended foods that help to prepare a perfect diet plan


An ideal diet for typhoid fever is that the meal should contain foods rich in protein, high-calorie, hydrate, and digestible.



Fruit juice 

A person suffering from typhoid should take only fruit juice and drink lemon water for a few days.


 Take liquid diet for a few days and then gradually take fruits like bananas cantaloupes, watermelons, grapes, and peaches.

You can also take milk buttermilk soft cheese paneer milk-based beverages.


Low fibre food

You can take spinach carrot bitter melon potato refined cereals rice pudding washed pulses.

Refined foods

Try to avoid all forms of nonsoluble dietary fibre should be avoided in the diet as they can harsh on the weak intestinal system and cause irritation.  


 After a few days as your appetite gets better. Take semi-solid foods. You can eat boiled rice baked potato, soft-boiled or poached eggs, baked apple: yoghurt, vegetable soup. 



After this 3 to 5 days follow the below diet 
chart for next one week 

 Breakfast:


You should have one glass juice of fresh fruit such as apple. 


Pear mango, papaya, or some grapes, or berries. One cup of broken wheat or one slice of whole white bread. 


 Lunch:

Eat a raw vegetable salad. Poached eggs, baked apple. 

Bananas and fruit juice. You can also take two small wheat tortilla with whole wheat flour.

 Dinner:

A high-calorie diet is necessary for typhoid patient those with typhoid fever


 Eat white bread, baked potato, and one other leafy vegetable like fenugreek seeds,  spinach Vegetable soup, etc. 

Note. Don't eat fatty and food that contain high fibre. 



Foods to stay away 


Foods that create stress on the digestive tract of patients should be avoided and always stay away from those foods.in the diet, the chart doesn't include these foods
